Morgan Guigue

Mrs. Jamieson and Ms Andrews,

"I want to start by letting you know once again how absolutely proud I am to have been one of your students. There is not a single day that goes by that I do not remember or recognize how well you have trained me in becoming who I am. You are two of the most wonderful people in my life and I can't tell you enough how greatful I am to you for giving me this amazing opportunity at the National Ballet Teacher's Training Program here in Toronto".

Joanna Douglas

CBC credits include “Being Erica”, “Flash Point”, “Rookie Blue”
Joanna began as a Highland Dancer at the Linda Jamieson School of Dance, but soon added Ballet, Jazz, Tap and Musical Theatre Dance. Before graduation in 2001, Joanna had danced lead roles in South Pacific at Earl of March Secondary School, as well as Sugar Plum Fairy and Snow Queen in our Christmas Classical Ballet Production, “The Nutcracker”.

“Dancing at the Linda Jamieson School of Dance for 12 of my formative years gave me memories and skills to last a lifetime. I am so grateful to my parents for introducing me to dance and to Mrs. J. Who fostered my love for it, made it fun and encouraged me to branch out into dance of all forms.
My experience at Linda Jamieson's School not only enriched my life, but I believe it helped save me from the tribulations of my adolescent years. Aside from the personal skills I developed at the School, such as punctuality, self discipline, determination, persistence, and the ability to speak the language of performance art, I also learned the value of physical activity and that exercise can be creative and fun. It was Mrs. J. who helped encourage the family-like friendships I made at the school. There was never any shortage of support for one another or encouragement to keep improving. The school was also where I learned to really listen to music and appreciate the live musicians who played for us in classes and exams.
Moving on after high school in the pursuit of acting at the University of Toronto and Sheridan College was no doubt upheld by the knowledge and practical wisdom gained from dancing with Mrs. J. It was at her dance school after all where I was first exposed to the elements of design and the various departments of production. Now, 5 years into this first career of my choice, I am ever more grateful for all that I learned at the Linda Jamieson School of Dance.”

Kristy Relf

My daughter, Amy absolutely loves dancing at the Linda Jamieson School of Dance. I have seen my shy, quiet child develop into a self-confident, capable individual who is passionate about dance. She comes home excited, motivated and full of funny stories that Mrs. J told them that day.

All the teachers are amazing, very inspiring. They really care about
students and take time to get to know them as individuals. They ensure that each dancer is learning correct technique, an essential tool in their development and in the prevention of injuries. They also teach the children respect, dedication, and perseverance the crucial life-lessons that our children will carry with them for life.

It warms my heart to see my daughter dance on stage, she is a real joy and it is all thanks to the Linda Jamieson School of Dance for their exceptional care.
