Congratulations to Donald Thom, winner of the 2008 American Dance Awards North American Teen Championship!
The Linda Jamieson School of Dance was founded over 30 years ago with the intention of furthering Dance Education in Ottawa. It has become one of the region's most respected training institutions where highly qualified and experienced teachers seek to motivate and inspire a passion for dance in all students whether enrolled in the Recreational, Secondary or Pre-Professional Programs. The high standard of dancing is a testament to the quality and expertise of the highly trained and qualified staff.
The professional level of training is evident in our company's own classical ballet productions of The Nutcracker, Giselle, and Coppelia as well as in our annual year end recitals, summer dance programs and guest teacher workshops. It has resulted in exceptional examination results and international titles, awards and scholarships.
Our guest artist program draws from major ballet companies, prima ballerinas and principal dancers from Canada's Royal Winnipeg Ballet, The National Ballet of Canada and American Ballet Theatre as well as choreographers from Broadway musicals thus providing our students with the very best training and opportunities for personal and professional development.
Former students have gone on to dance with the National Ballet of Canada, The Royal Winnipeg Ballet Company's Asian Tour 2000, Broadway Production of "Cats", "Crazy For You", "Kiss Me Kate", North American Tour of "Lost in Yonkers", the European Tour of "42nd Street", Hollywood film, Barney's Great Adventure, National Arts Centre Orchestra's Christmas and Spring Pops Concerts and dance productions on various cruise lines.
The Linda Jamieson School of Dance is committed to the development of skilled, successful, and confident young dancers.
